Their Vision

Sol Children Theatre is a not-for-profit theatre organization dedicated to providing children with a safe, secure, and highly professional theatre experience. In turn, the children provide quality theatre experiences for audiences. Participants are not only an active troupe in the community, they study all theatre disciplines; on stage and behind the scenes. The experience goes beyond the rehearsal process; members meet regularly to build skills.

Their Mission

  • as individuals, to unlock the secrets of our characters and their situations and relationships
  • as individuals, to use our inherent acting tools to utmost by incorporating learned skills and techniques and life experiences
  • as one, to put forth only the very best efforts with each and every experience.
  • to work as one unit, one mind, one body to not only help each other but to believe in each other
  • as one, to bring audiences, not just a product, not just a play, but an unforgettable experience

Summer Camp

Each summer, they offer a summer camp for children interested in the performing arts.  Participants expand their horizons while staging full-length, fully-staged productions where talents and progress is showcased. Dance, music, and acting classes are offered as well as specific work sessions for each show’s cast and crew. One-on-one training is part of each camper’s experience.

Commedia del Sol

In addition to the children’s troupe and summer camp, Sol Children Theatre also has a troupe of actors-in-residence called Commedia del Sol. They perform several productions per year at Sol and are featured performers at the Florida Renaissance Festival.

Evening Star Productions

Once children age out of the Sol Children Theatre Troupe, Evening Star Productions provides opportunities for young adults desiring to pursue a career in theatre; training young actors, stage managers, and designers to push the boundaries of their knowledge and talent in a safe and highly professional environment.
