Two pictures were taken in an historic old inn which was built in 1794. The other one was at a beautiful "Painted Lady" as you can see. I love to wear my dresses on these trips. I also go to afternoon tea often and will usually wear a Recollections dress on those occasions."

Dear Ladies at Recollections,

My husband and I just returned home from spending a couple of days in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This is the town where the most famous battle of the Civil War took place--the Battle of Gettysburg. The town is a wonderful place to visit for people who enjoy seeing how life was in the mid 1800s, enjoy studying history and the battle, and also like to be on the lookout for ghosts who are said to be very much present in Gettysburg due to all the of horrible deaths that happened there during the war.

I love to do all of those things, but another reason why I like to go to Gettysburg so much is because I am right at home wearing the beautiful dresses that I have purchased from Recollections. Let me tell you, I get REACTIONS. People were looking and pointing at me. They were taking my picture. I heard people saying to each other, "Look at that dress!" One elderly man came up to me and said, "Are you Scarlett O'Hara?" I was wearing a beautiful floral printed dress with a white flounced underskirt with a hoop underneath.

Then there was the shop-owner who sells Victorian clothing and also can dress tourists up and take their pictures in period clothing. She came running out of her shop, across the street, and up to me exclaiming about my dress, "Where did you get it? It's so beautiful!" Well, you can be sure that I told many people about Recollections.

The cutest incident was when a mom came up to me and said, "Excuse me. My little girl just loves the way you are dressed. She would like to have her picture taken with you. Would that be OK?" Of course, I was flattered, and we did it. My husband was laughing the whole time. He said, "Next, you will be giving out autographs." Well, I know that all of the attention that I got was because of my beautiful dresses.

I would like to thank you, again, for making such beautiful clothes. I have always dreamed of having some dresses like the ones I have gotten from you. My dream has come true. I can't wait to check the monthly sales, and I really do appreciate the specials. They help so much as I am in the expensive process of getting my last child through college.

Before I go, I have to make another point. I have been going to Gettysburg for several years now. I love how it takes you back in time. When I first started going, there weren't many stores where one could purchase a period dress. Now, there are many stores. The dresses are out of this world. The workmanship is impeccable. Everything is lined and finished off. The fabric choices are so fine. They are just beautiful. Most of the dresses are sold to re-enactors. I have admired the dresses but was never able to get one. Recollections has made it possible for me to do so. The prices have gone way up this year, I have noticed. When I go there and see the period clothing and the prices, I am so very happy that I know of Recollections. People need to only go out and look around, and they will realize that you are offering us a GREAT value on your garments. They are not only very affordable compared to the shops in the historic towns, but they are usually way more beautiful. Please extend my heartfelt compliments to your designers. They are very, very talented.

I am still hoping that you will, one day, offer a line of "everyday" dresses which might not be as elaborate and ornate, but still give the look.

"I just wanted to send some pics of some events that I have gone to and worn my Recollections outfit.

I've gotten so many compliments on this outfit, and I just absolutely adore it! I first wore it to our annual Sodbuster

Days, an event in Fort Ransom, North Dakota where I work as a Park Ranger/Interpreter. I started wearing it on a weekly basis when I gave tours of the farm, and I have gotten so many compliments on it.

The second event I recently wore it to was a small event in Moorhead, MN at the Probstfield Living History Farm. One of my friends is the Executive Director, and she knew that I had this beautiful gown, and asked if I would wear it and give tours. I said yes, of course! She took a few pictures of me to use it for some new brochures.

I just wanted to say that I have NEVER been disappointed when ordering from Recollections, and am hoping to get a few more outfits as well! Your outfits are absolutely gorgeous, and so reasonably priced. I have been to many other websites, and many different stores that sell different Victorian outfits. No one comes even close to your gorgeous outfits.
