While we call this a Victorian gown, it has many elements from the Civil War era, and could serve equally well to represent either period. You get to select which shimmering shade to make up the bodice and attached overskirt. The closely fitted boned bodice features an off-the-shoulder neckline trimmed out with ruffled lace and grosgrain bows similar to the "Bertha" collar so popular on Civil War ball gowns. The attached overskirt is generously gathered then trimmed out with a deep ruffle and accented all around with large bows made up in black grosgrain ribbon. Shirring under each bow causes the hemline of the overskirt to fall into a graceful scalloped effect. The very full black taffeta underskirt has a flounce at the hemline and several rows of vertical "falls" of black lace at the center front. The skirt has a comfortable elastic waist. Made up in acetate taffeta. Please dry clean only. Recollections clothing is proudly made in America. Liesa completes her ensemble by wearing a hoop under the skirt, and then adds gloves, jewelry, and boots. All are available priced separately.
