Welcome to part 2 of our look at Halloween costume events for 2016. In part 1, we discovered three events that center around a chance to dress up and attend an event. Halloween costume contests shine in part 2.
Coloween 2016 & the Denver Zombie Crawl
The Curtis Hotel in downtown Denver, Colorado, is the place to be on Saturday, October 29 if you love Halloween costume parties. There is a $1500 costume contest, too! The party takes place on two levels and there is entertainment in three ballrooms.
If dressing up like a zombie is your thing, the 11th annual Zombie Crawl takes place on October 22 from noon to 6 p.m. at Skyline Park. Who or what would you go as?
Vampire Halloween
Get your best sexy Dark Shadows on for the 3rd annual Vampire Halloween Masquerade & Costume Party at Couture in Los Angeles, California. There is a $1,000 costume contest, too! It is an action-packed event that starts at 8 p.m. on October 31.
A Night of Nightmares Halloween Costume Party
Upscale Entertainment presents this event at the Lime Lounge on Jamaica Avenue in Queens, NY on Saturday, October 29th. The fun begins at 10 p.m. There is a cash prize for the best costume! Scorpios get in free all night with an RSVP ticket.
Masquerade Ball at Mazi Nightclub
International Saturday presents this Halloween costume party at Mazi Nightclub in Queens on Saturday, October, 29th. Attendees are encouraged to ‘dress to impress.’ There is a $1000 cash prize. Music is provided by NYC’s top DJs.
Northalsted Halloween Parade
This parade is a 20-year-old tradition in Chicago. It takes place each year on Halloween in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood. People of all ages turn out to parade through the streets from 5 – 10 p.m. There is a costume contest, too. Last year, there were more than 2,000 entries!
Haunted Halloween Ball
The Haunted Halloween Ball takes place on Saturday, October 29, at the Congress Plaza Hotel in Chicago, which just might be one of the most haunted hotels in the world! This year the location has been transformed into an abandoned hotel run by zombies. There is a costume contest with $3,000 in cash and prizes.
Theatre Bizarre – A Masquerade Spectacular
Downtown Detroit is the home of the most macabre Victorian sideshow EVER (in the words of one of our Facebook followers). Twice a month the Masonic Temple building (the largest one in the world) is home to Theatre Bizarre, a celebration of the Gothic fascination with the supernatural and extraordinary. In addition to the usual spectacular, there is a Masquerade Gala on October 14 and 21 to celebrate Halloween. Theatre Bizarre takes place on October 15 and 22. Although this is not a costume contest event, we found it compelling enough to include, especially since it take place in our ‘backyard’ (yes, it is a really big backyard to span from Northeast Michigan to Detroit)!
We hope you enjoyed our little trip around America and some of our Halloween costume events! Still looking for your winning costume?
