Made up in your choice of cotton print, this bodice and skirt show off the best of Civil War Era styling. The bodice has pagoda style sleeves and a dropped shoulder seam. Self-covered buttons close the front. Coordinating fringe trims out the yoke, bodice, and sleeves. The matching skirt measures about 135" around and is gathered into a buttoned waistband. Please wash by hand or machine wash gently in water, and the hang to dry. Proudly made by Recollections and made in America. Liesa is also wearing a hoop, boots, and earrings - each is available priced separately. Lovely!

This ensemble is elegant, comfortable to wear, and very attention getting. It has that Civil War era military look with the gold fringe. The cut of the jacket and fullness of the hoop skirt enhance the waistline beautifully. I added hat, belt, ear bobs, pin, mitts, and reticule, and the outfit just shone. I got many, many compliments.

Q: My waist size is around 32. What size would fit? How long is the skirt? What about the top? Would this use a 4 or more hoop? Thank you.

A: We strongly suggest ordering the size that is normally worn and sending a bust and a waist measurement for production to check to ensure a proper fit. Measure at the fullest part of the bust and the smallest part of the waist. Our size chart is just a guideline as each item will have different finished measurements and fit differently. If production finds any concerns we will contact you. The skirt is 40 inches from waist to hem and will not accommodate a hoop.

Q: The description of this ensemble says the model is wearing a hoop. The answer to the previous question says the skirt will not accommodate a hoop. If the skirt will indeed accommodate a hoop, which one of the hoops Recollections sells is recommended?l

A: This ensemble will accommodate a 4 bone hoop. The circumference is about 135 inches.

Q: is this not available in the fabric shown in the picture, which isn't listed in the fabric swatches shown .

A: The fabric shown in the pic is no longer available. You will have to choose from the swatches shown.

    What size should I order?

Most people find that our sizing runs generously. If you are undecided with which size to order, it is best to order the smaller size, or give us a call to assist you (1-800-452-5925). You may also email us at with your measurements (bust and waist) and we can help you choose the nearest size.

An exception to the generous sizing is the type of ball gown that requires boning in the bodice and that supports a heavy skirt. Many times this style is also "off-the-shoulder" and requires a firm fit to stay up. These styles tend to not run as generously as most of our other garments because of this. But please, give us a call if you are uncertain.

In most cases you should take your bust and waist measurement to determine your size. Please wear the undergarments that you intend to wear when you do your measuring. For example, take your measurement over the type of brassiere or corset that you may be wearing.

Measure the fullest part of your bust around and the smallest part of your waist.
