Oh where to begin? Fabulous lush textured velvet and shimmering taffeta made up with beautiful attention to detail in the Victorian style. A rich patterned textured velvet makes up the polonaise bodice. The fitted bodice has a high neckline and sleeves with a gentle pouf at the shoulders. The sleeves are caught just above the elbow, and then continue with a ruffle of the same lush velvet fabric. The hemline of the bodice cuts away from the center front to form deep points on either side, and a deeply pleated long peplum that has the look of an trained overskirt at the back. The entire hemline has a deep flounce of the same velvet fabric as the bodice. Taffeta covered buttons close the front. The full taffeta skirt features a deep band of ruching over an equally deep flounce at the hemline. If you order the copper velvet, your skirt will be matching taffeta, if you order the burgundy velvet, the skirt will be black taffeta. 63% Acetate/37% Rayon Velvet/Acetate Taffeta skirt - please dry clean only. The model is also wearing a hat, earrings, gloves, extra full crinoline, and boots - all are available priced separately. Recollections clothing is made in America.

Q: Do you happen to have a picture of the full Ava Polonaise Ensemble in Burgundy?
A: No we do not. We would be happy to send fabric samples if that would help!
Q: I would like to inquire about length. I'm 5'2" tall. Are dresses just one length?
A: The length of the skirt is waist to hem 40 inches. We can alter the length for a 20.00 fee.
Q: Where can I find the hat?
A: The hat shown is no longer available. We do have many lovely hats to offer.

Most people find that our sizing runs generously. If you are undecided with which size to order, it is best to order the smaller size, or give us a call to assist you (1-800-452-5925). You may also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your measurements (bust and waist) and we can help you choose the nearest size.
An exception to the generous sizing is the type of ball gown that requires boning in the bodice and that supports a heavy skirt. Many times this style is also "off-the-shoulder" and requires a firm fit to stay up. These styles tend to not run as generously as most of our other garments because of this. But please, give us a call if you are uncertain.
In most cases you should take your bust and waist measurement to determine your size. Please wear the undergarments that you intend to wear when you do your measuring. For example, take your measurement over the type of brassiere or corset that you may be wearing.
Measure the fullest part of your bust around and the smallest part of your waist.
