Sue McDonald, Writer

Sue McDonald loves to write – even her e-mail address says so! While going through the process to become one of Recollection’s “Featured Ladies” when they published an article about her web site, “Madame’s Mercantile”, Sue thought her own writing skills might be useful to Recollections. Once the Featured Lady article was complete, she sent a sample of her writing to Recollections and offered her services. Since then, Sue has been a regular contributor to Recollections. She writes articles for the Recollections Blog, helps with the Newsletters, and writes product descriptions for new items as they are published. Sue also researches and responds to questions about period clothing.

In “real life” Sue works full-time as a technical writer, and also does freelance work. She has been published in the Wild West Gazette, Working Woman, and Somerset Studio, among others. She also writes articles of interest to the Victorian re-enactment community for Bustledress (www.bustledress.com), Recollections (www.recollections.biz) and her own site, Madame’s Mercantile (www.madamesmercantile.com).

Sue and her husband Dale live in Prescott, Arizona, and are avid re-enactors. They are founding members of The Boots and Bustles Old West Social Club. They also have memberships in The Elks Opera House Guild, The Reenactment Guild of America (RGA), and the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). An avid re-enactor, Sue makes most of her own Victorian style clothing, but every now and then she simply MUST have something lovely from Recollections!
