Shelby
Shelby has been the Productions Manager at Recollections since 2002 but has been with Recollections since 1990. She is responsible for cutting garments, distributing the work load, planning the shipping schedule, and jewelry and hat design.
She has been around sewing since childhood. Her mother Marlene, the head seamstress at Recollections, was always sewing at home and was her 4-H sewing teacher as well. Shelby remembers using her mom’s old machine to make all kinds of Barbie clothes when she was a little girl. She says that her mom passed on her talents and attributes to her and her twin sister Susan, the Administration Manager at Recollections – it is a real family affair!
Shelby and her husband live on a farm with five horses and their dog Dado. Besides spending time with them, she enjoys playing her guitar and singing with family at their many gatherings. She has been singing in her church choir since the age of 13. Shelby also likes to work in her garden as often as she can. Her dream is to visit Ireland with her husband and tour hillside castles together.
Shelby says that the best thing about working at Recollections is making customers happy. It is rewarding for her to help a client select their ensemble for a special event and then see it successfully executed. She works hard every day to make sure her customers are happy and she appreciates the opportunity to do just that.
