This elegant suit, styled from the 1870's, features a fancy aubergine velvet jacket that has a taffeta front center insert. The jacket has a taffeta covered button closure and self ruffle to frame the face. The sleeves are of pagoda styling and flounced in a wonderful wide taffeta ruffle. The velvet jacket is cut long with soft folding in the back. The shirred and ruffled rows of taffeta in the skirt front, a detail from the 19th century, continues through to the bustled shirred back. Simply exquisite! Available in sizes XS to XXXXL. Skirt has elastic waist. Dry clean. Jacket is 100% cotton aubergine velvet with acetate mist taffeta trim. Acetate skirt.
